The premium coffee concentrate — single-origin beans, cold-brew extracted, 20x concentrated. Better flavour than Javy, but at a higher cost.
Our Verdict4.3 / 5
Jot makes the best-tasting coffee concentrate on the market. It tastes closer to freshly brewed single-origin coffee than any other concentrate — including Javy. The cost is real, but so is the quality.

What Is Jot Coffee?
Jot Coffee was founded in 2020 in Portland, Oregon. The premise: take single-origin specialty coffee beans, cold-brew extract them at 20x concentration, and bottle the result. One tablespoon in a mug of hot water or milk produces a complete cup of coffee.
The difference from Javy is the sourcing and method. Jot uses named single-origin beans (currently Colombian) with flavour notes documented. Javy uses a blend. Jot's cold-brew extraction is slower and preserves more of the bean's natural acidity and sweetness. The result tastes closer to poured coffee — less like a concentrate.

Jot Ultra Coffee — Original
4.4/5
$32 / 14 servings
The flagship. Single-origin Colombian beans, cold-brew extracted, 20x concentrated. One tablespoon makes a full cup — hot or cold. The cleanest tasting concentrate available.
We brewed Jot Original and Javy Original side by side — one tablespoon Jot, one teaspoon Javy, both in 8oz of hot water.
Jot was noticeably more complex — light caramel sweetness, slight fruity brightness, clean finish. Javy was smoother and less acidic but more neutral. Four testers preferred Jot for black coffee. Three preferred Javy with milk (its smoothness works well in lattes).
Verdict: If you drink coffee black or with a splash of milk, Jot is the better product. If you make lattes and mochas and want flavour variety, Javy is better value.
Frequently Asked Questions
Jot vs Javy Coffee: which is better?
Jot and Javy are the two leading coffee concentrates. Jot uses a 20x concentration and single-origin beans — the flavour is more complex and closer to freshly brewed coffee. Javy uses 1 teaspoon per cup vs Jot's 1 tablespoon, making it more economical per bottle. For flavour quality, Jot wins. For value and variety of flavours, Javy wins.
How strong is Jot Coffee?
Each tablespoon of Jot produces a standard cup of coffee with normal caffeine levels (~100mg). Because it's 20x concentrated, you have full control over strength — add more for stronger coffee, dilute further for a milder drink. There is no maximum dose built in.
Is Jot Coffee worth the price?
At $32 per bottle (14 servings), Jot works out to approximately $2.30 per cup — more expensive than Javy ($1/cup) and far more expensive than brewing ground coffee. You're paying for quality single-origin beans, cold-brew concentrate method, and exceptional flavour. If cost-per-cup is the priority, brew your own. If you want the best-tasting concentrate with no effort, Jot justifies its price.
