We filled each mug with freshly brewed coffee at 82°C and measured temperature at 30, 60, 90, and 120 minutes in a room at 21°C. The YETI consistently delivered drinkable coffee (55°C+) at 90 minutes. Cheaper single-wall mugs dropped below drinking temperature within 20 minutes.
Every mug on this list uses double-wall vacuum insulation — two walls of steel with a vacuum gap between them. This is significantly more effective than double-wall air-gap insulation (used in cheaper options) and far better than single-wall ceramic.
