Better than any flavoured coffee you've had from a supermarket. The skeleton branding is fun, the flavours are authentic (for flavoured coffee), and S'morey Time is genuinely excellent. Buy it as a gift or for iced lattes.
Bones Coffee Company launched in 2014 with a mission to make flavoured coffee that didn't taste cheap. The skeleton-and-reaper branding is distinctive and immediately recognisable — but what kept the brand growing is the actual quality.
They roast in small batches and apply flavourings to freshly roasted beans — this is the key difference from mass-market flavoured coffees, where old beans are soaked in flavour compounds. Fresher beans hold flavour better and produce a cleaner cup.
S'morey Time was the standout. The toasted marshmallow and chocolate flavour is well-integrated — you taste it in the finish, not as an up-front artificial sweetness. Brewed at a medium-strength, over ice with oat milk: genuinely excellent.
Hawaii 5-0 is more restrained — the macadamia and coconut are subtle rather than loud. Good for everyday drinking; doesn't taste like dessert.
Strawberry Cheesecake divided our test group. Half loved it iced with milk (legitimately resembles a strawberry latte). Half found the berry-coffee combination dissonant. This one comes down to personal taste.
